In August of 2017, the CreditWise team met to deliberate and determine the product's future. In an effort to ensure that the team's direction was dictated by customer needs and real problems, we decided that our first step would be to better understand those needs. As a result, we decided to create a persona system of CreditWise users. Because CreditWise is meant to help users better understand their credit and prepare for financial goals, the intent of our persona system was to capture not only users' financial demographic data, but also their needs, goals, and pain points surrounding credit and finance.
As a designer and researcher on the CreditWise team, I conducted qualitative interviews, synthesis sessions, and quantitative sizing across past and ongoing user research in order to define our persona system. The following deck describes the system in detail, as well as how the team might use these personas to determine design goals.
